The meaning of birth signs and symbols are from astrological observations, mixed with mythology, that have evolved over hundreds of years across many different cultures. Naturally, it is hard to discern which aspects of the zodiac horoscope are fact or fiction, and how to balance astrology with other influences of our lives. We do know that The 12 signs of the zodiac represent celestial designs observed by gazing at stars and constellations. Their symbols are interpreted in many ways. But my job is to engrave these designs into rock to make beautiful garden stones. I offer choices of traditional birth signs and Chinese birth signs. There are 12 zodiac symbols for each. Each of the 24 unique birth signs makes for a devine design in engraved rock, no matter how much you believe in astrology.

      Because river rocks come in so many shapes and sizes, the dimensions will largely depend on the design. The Large river rocks range between 20 to 28 pounds. They are typically around a foot in length but can vary due to the irregular shapes. The Large rocks allow for greater creativity due to the larger "canvas".

      The Medium river rocks weigh between 14 and 16 pounds and are usually about 9 or 10 inches in length. The shape will be determined by the design.

      The Small river rocks weigh between 8 and 10 pounds and are about 7 to 8 inches in length.

      Signature rocks are about 4 to 5 inches long and weigh a pound or two and are big enough for a word or two. If they are ordered on their own then the price is $40 each. If they are ordered as rocks surrounding an Large river rock then the price is half that, $20 each.

      Chinese birth signs are not classified by date in the same way as the traditional zodiac with which most of us are familiar. The 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac are listed by year, although they do not start on the 1st of January so make sure you get the date right. Just click on Chinese Zodiac, type in your birthdate, and it will tell you which Chinese birth sign of the Chinese zodiac is yours. You will also find an explanation of what it means. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did. The zodiac names are engraved in Chinese writing (as shown below) along with the Chinese zodiac symbols.
